You can see that crash seems to be running a little faster, but it’s still not playable like it is. This thing out as much as possible we’re going to turn these cycles all the way to -2 maximum under clock to 3 and on screen. So I’m going to get back into the settings and we’re going to go ahead and hack. Personally, I’m a huge fan of this and right now we’re in the stock unsafe mode. So, let’s go ahead and jump right into it with crash bandicoot wrath of cortex. Now it comes down to a lot of the 2d games, but we’re still going to be testing out some 3d stuff here. So I’m going to be using the vulcan back-end we’re going to be at the native resolution, and, like I mentioned, I was able to get a couple of these games to run decently.

They do recommend using something like a snapdragon 845 and up for ether sx2 so with the emulator we’re set to unsafe and unfortunately, with this build here, I just can’t get opengl working, but vulcan is working with ether sx2 in this build of android for the raspberry pi 4. I’m actually running these games from a micro sd card plugged into one of the usb 3.0 ports and when it comes to the raspberry pi force soc, we don’t have a super powerful chip here.

Back here again today we’re going to be testing out some ps2 emulation on the raspberry pi 4, using ether sx2 if you’re not familiar with ether sx2, it’s a new ps2 emulator for android, and it does perform quite well when you have a higher end. In this video, we test out the all-new PS2 Emulator known as AetherSX2 on the Raspberry Pi4 using Android 12 and the Vulkan Backend! I was very surprised to see the Pi4 run some PlayStation 2 at a playable framerate! Its not perfect and we can only use the Vulkan backend with AetherSX2 on The Raspberry Pi but this is still pretty amazing!
